1. Overview
UniBook is a university-focused communication and academic information platform for adult students, teachers and institutional personnel. This policy explains what information UniBook collects, why it is used, how it is protected and the choices available to users.
2. Information we collect
- Account and profile information: Google account identifier, name, email address, profile image, biography and academic or institutional information supplied by the user.
- User content: posts, comments, reactions, follows, private messages, replies, images, voice clips, reports and other content submitted through UniBook.
- Calling information: caller and recipient identifiers, call status, timestamps, duration and technical connection diagnostics. UniBook does not record or store the audio content of live calls.
- Academic content: notices, class routines, examination routines and related audience filters.
- Device and technical information: push-notification token, device or app version, IP address, network and connection information, error logs and security diagnostics.
- Saved preferences: notification, filtering and offline-content preferences stored on the device or service.
3. How information is used
Information is used to authenticate users, provide profiles and academic content, deliver posts and messages, enable voice clips and audio calls, send notifications, show delivery/read status, protect accounts, investigate abuse, maintain reliability and comply with lawful obligations.
4. Sharing and service providers
UniBook does not sell personal data and does not use personal data for third-party advertising. Limited information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the app, including Google Sign-In, Firebase Cloud Messaging, hosting, email delivery and network relay services used for internet calling. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect users, the service or the public.
5. User-generated content and safety
Users can report inappropriate users or content and block unwanted interactions. Authorized administrators may review reports and restrict or remove content or accounts that violate UniBook rules or applicable law.
6. Data security
UniBook uses encrypted HTTPS connections, access controls, protected server configuration and operational safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and users should protect their Google account and device.
7. Retention and deletion
Information is retained while an account is active and as needed to provide the service. Users may request deletion in the app or through the public account-deletion page. Active account data is normally deleted or de-identified within 30 days after a verified request. Limited backup, fraud-prevention, security or legally required records may remain for up to 90 days or for the period required by law.
8. User choices
Users may update profile information, manage notifications, remove their content where supported, report or block users, and request account deletion. Device permissions such as microphone and notifications can be changed through Android settings, although disabling them may limit related features.
9. Children
UniBook is intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International processing
Information may be processed on servers or by service providers located outside the user’s country. Appropriate operational and contractual safeguards are used where applicable.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when UniBook features, legal requirements or data practices change. The effective date will be revised, and significant changes may also be communicated in the app.
